PROCEDURE COMMITTEE
|
The Procedure Committee has the duty and responsibility to administer the procedure for the election of members to the Citizens Nominating Committee and, from time to time, to recommend amendments to the Non-Partisan Resolution. Scarsdale qualified voters who have resided in the Village for at least two years are eligible to run for the Citizens Nominating Committee (CNC). CNC candidates must not currently serve on the School Board Nominating Committee or its Administration Committee, the Scarsdale Board of Education, the Scarsdale Village Board of Trustees or the Procedure Committee. Elections are held in early November and, normally, two people are elected from each Non-Partisan Unit (i.e., elementary school district) to serve a three-year term on the CNC. Occasionally, more than two people will be elected to fill empty seats due to resignation or a member's move from the Unit. To run for the CNC, a candidate must submit a biographical information form and a nominating petition signed by ten qualified voters from his/her Unit. Voters who are unable to vote on Election Day due to absence from the Village or a physical problem may request an absentee ballot. Please go to forms for the Candidate Biography, Nominating Petition, and Request for Absentee Ballot. Note, to review the deadlines for submittal of these forms, go to election calendar.
When all information on candidates running for the CNC is available, the
information will be posted to the candidates section of this web site. |
